Technology In The Future
Technology is always advancing and upgrading on the older devices already created. Movies like “The Minority Report” and George Orwell’s book “1984″ are all guessing what the future of technology will look like. In the movies and other media they like to show that technology will grow into the extensive use of touch screens, little gadgets, robots and cameras that follow your every step. However we have thought like that for years and it has not came true yet, to an extent. There are new advancements in technology that has followed in these directions but never seem to be so extreme as the film industry tries to make out.
When this technology is conveyed in the book “1984″ or the short novel “The Machine Stops” technology is always viewed negatively. This may be because we are scared or apprehensive of what the future will have in store for us. We might be thinking that if technology gets more and more advanced will the machines take control over us? However technology can serve lots of purposes in saving peoples live with advancements in the medical field or just simply making cutting the grass easier. I believe that technology does not have to lead to a totalitarian Government or does it need to spy on your every move. It can help people get by easier/increase life expectancy further and can serve great purposes on many fields like science or the economy.
