The Mobile Phone
Mobile phones started of just being what it it says on the tin, a mobile phone. But with recent quick enchancements of this technology it is not just an ordinary mobile phone.
Mobile phones are the perfect example of convergent technologies as they are a camera, music player, video recorder, calculator and of course a phone. That list can go on and on. Every year there is another advancement on this technology and one can only imagine what the mobile phone will look like 10 years time. They have become extremely popular and it seems everyone has a mobile phone because you see one being used all the time. Also they are very handy when in a tight spot for example, imagine if someone got ran over by a car on a motorway and there was no pay phones around. How could help come? However people have become very dependent on mobile phones and mistaken it more for neccessity rather than luxury. Texting has proved this by the many people who randomly text others when they are bored, which really is not neccessary but after a long time doing so they grow to believe it is .
Now the next big thing with phones are the new smartphones. They offer a better connectivity and computing ability than the basic mobile phone. Smartphones are like a handheld computer transfered into the mobile phone. They are the latest advancement and will grow in popularity over the years to come.
