Be prepared in advanced

Because our alumnus was busy with work we had to wait until she said she was ready to undertake the interview. Although when it came to this we hadn’t booked out any cameras so we had to make do with laptops, digital cameras and phones for video and sound recording. Where as if we had booked cameras out for the length of the project we would have been prepared for when she said she was ready.

Each member has a copy of the files

We struggled to work on the project individually because of only one of us had a copy of all of the files where as the rest of us only had some of the files so we couldn’t really work on it on our own. We tried to communicate any work we had through our Facebook group, which we created this worked well for sharing emails but actual documentation was hard to place on this group

Communication

It wasn’t very easy to communicate with our alumni because she was at work whilst we were free and we were at university whilst she was free so it was difficult to have a good flow of emails. We could have set up a new email account which we all had access to, so that any of us could have replied at any time.

Technology

We found that if we tried to move the project to different computers we couldn’t open the file. This therefore meant we had to meet up as a group and work together this was good because we got the opportunity to work together but it was difficult to find times that would suit us all to meet. Also we where all working on different computer platform which was difficult to ensure the files where saved in a format that we could all open, sometimes this wasn’t possible.

Teamwork

We thought that there was many good and bad points of working in a team, it was hard to get everyone in the same place at the same time, this happened a few different times when we where speaking to Rosie where there was always one member of the group that wasn’t present. We found the easiest way to communicate with everyone was via a Facebook group where we could all access and find out what the other members of the group where up to and how we were progressing throughout the project.
