Hi there! Welcome to my blog. I am an aspiring interaction designer at University of Dundee. This blog will be used mainly to support my studies and to document my time whilst being a student.
My name is Forbes Ramsay and I come from the costal town of Dundee, Scotland. It is here where I was born, went to school, and chose what I wanted to do with my life.
Although, I haven’t always known what I wanted to do. When I left school I decided to learn sound production in Perth College. This was interesting, but not quite for me. I decided to apply for the course Digital Interaction Design at Dundee University. This seemed much more my thing. I love creating things that make peoples life better. I also love working with computers and pushing the boundaries of what is crazy and what is genius. Although some would say im not the most artistic person in the traditional sense, I do consider myself very creative and I prefer to think outside of what is normal and conventional. After all, what is creative about doing what everyone else is doing?
I havnt not completely abandoned music though. As most people would agree with, once you really listen and decompose music, it can be difficult to listen to it in the same way again. Especially when you use used to using programs like Protools and Cubase; programs that are created specifically to build up and break down music from beginning to end.
On a more personal side, I live at home with my family in Dundee although my sister has moved up to Aberdeen to go to university as a postgraduate. I also work in Superdrug, a health and cosmetics shop part time, although I don’t know how much longer that will last.
Whilst life seems to have taken a turn in another direction, I am confident that my creative personality and dedication will make me a successful designer.
