Amar Latif visited our 3rd Year Digital Interaction Design and Product Design students this autumn. Amar is an entrepreneur, founder of the Traveleyes company and is blind. He discussed the role that digital technology plays in his life and demoed VoiceOver on his iPhone, which he uses more than braille these days. This picks up on themes of Design meets disability.

Level 3 students have been working on a project where they were asked to conceive, design and prototype an app for a grandperson.

On the first stage of the project, every student worked individually with a specific grandperson (grandparents, parents, other relatives, etc.) trying to come up with a solution to an everyday life problem of that persona which would involve the use of mobile technology.
