He discussed the role that digital technology plays in his life and demoed VoiceOver on his iPhone, which he uses more than braille these days. This picks up on themes of Design meets disability.

Just a quick post to show myself and Calum's App working on one of the new iPod touches. It's an App based on the world renowned fashion designer Hussein Chalayan and it displays his different collections from 1994-2011. We created the app as part of a project in 2nd year DixD (1st Semester).

We do iOS

This academic year 2011-2012, for the first time, mobile application design is included in the DIxD curriculum. We're focusing on Apple's iOS mobile devices - iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch - and so are developing and designing apps using the XCode IDE. Ewan Steel is leading teaching in this area.
First out of the blocks are Level 2 who are exploring interaction design in mobile interfaces. Next semester, Level 3 students will be using this technology to look at user-centred app design.
