Dr Owain Jones is senior Research Fellow at the Countryside and Community Research Institute, a research post funded by the University of the West of England. He completed his PhD (Human Geography), at the University of Bristol and has an extensive AHRC and ESRC post-doctoral research and publication experience in the areas of landscape, place and nature-society relations.

Some of his key articles include:
‘Dwelling’ and ‘Nature-Cultures’ in International Encyclopaedia of Human Geography, ‘After Nature: Entangled Worlds’ in A Companion to Environmental Geography and is co-author with Paul Cloke of Tree Cultures.

As researcher he has published in the interconnecting areas of the temporality of landscape and geography, memory and landscape. Dr Jones took part in the AHRC-funded Landscape and Environment Network
“Living in a Material World: performativities of emptiness” (University of Bristol, University of Wales Aberystwyth and University of the West of England) and is an associate member of LAND2.
