LAND2

The
LAND2 creative practice-led research network was started in 2002 by Iain Biggs (UWE Bristol) and Judith Tucker (Leeds) for artist / lecturers and research students with an interest in landscape / place-oriented art practice. In 2009 Mary Modeen (Dundee) was invited to join the coordination group.

The network’s core funding came from PLaCE, with other institutions contributing to individual projects.

Members of the network share common interests in how arts practices can engage with the possibilities and problems of landscape / place as it is understood today, while also recognizing the contested nature of both these terms.

The network maintains an active, participatory website at www.land2.uwe.ac.uk. This both represents the network and serves as an educational resource for those interested in practice-led research into landscape.

We show members work, run inter-disciplinary research symposia, and are increasingly seeking to work in an international, as well as a national context.
